Services

  • Digital Security

I work with activists and NGOs around the world to evaluate their digital safety risks and support them in making long term changes to improve their safety. My work commonly focuses on threats from authorities including government-sponsored malware like Pegasus, lack of legal protections, legal threats to data, device search and seizure, and risk transfer to/from community members. I also work with organizations that face harassment and infiltration from political opposition.

I bring specific knowledge and have a network of regional experts in the US, Mexico/Central America, Brazil, India, China, South East Asia, some parts of the Middle East, and some parts of Sub-Saharan Africa. I am able to support against advanced persistent threat groups including nation state actors.

My recommendations are based on your specific context, the positionality of your team, the capabilities of your specific threat actors, and your capacity for technology change.

  • Change Management

I work with institutions and collectives to support participatory change — leadership transitions, name changes, or the implementation of new systems and policies. My approach seeks to balance the pragmatic realities of any change with the emotional experience of those undergoing it.

Healthy change requires leaning into conflict and being honest about the limitations of your given process. I can help your institution or collective navigate these complexities.

  • General Technologist & Project Management

I have almost two decades of experience working at the intersection of activism, nonprofits, and technology. My personal technical experience includes hands on configuration of network infrastructure, end point security tools, cloud security tools, data management tools (including Salesforce), data orchestration tools, data analysis, data visualization, and evaluation/integration of AI models into existing workflows. I have provided these services to tiny volunteer collectives and to very large household-name international foundations

I can help guide your institution or collective on the selection and implementation of new tools. If needed, I can provide ongoing hands-on project management. My goal as a project manager is to own the project and build the relationships needed to keep things moving, rather than simply report out on the project status.
